Herbal Medicine is the oldest form of medicine known to mankind and still the most widely practised medicine. Over 80% of the world’s population rely on herbs as their main form of treatment, whether Western herbs in Europe or Chinese medicine or Indian Ayurvedic .

As a medical herbalist I was trained in the same diagnostic skills as doctors but view health and illness in a different way.

My approach is certainly more holistic. Whilst I look at  the symptoms a patient has, I think it is essential  to identify the underlying causes of ‘dis-ease’.  This helps me to understand what is preventing the body from returning to a state of balance and well-being, which it will naturally try and do.

From my experience herbs will work with the body or ‘kick-start’ the healing process – unlike Allopathic medicine, which the body sees as toxins to be got rid of – hence the frequent side effects.
